AN ADDRESS BY THE INCOMING PRESIDENT OF MERCHANT OF LIGHT SPECIAL SCIENCE SCHOOL OBA, 2002 SET – THE ACHIEVERS, PRESENTED TODAY, THE 5TH OF JANUARY 2024, AT THE OCCASION OF 2024/2025 GENERAL MEETING/REUNION AND HANDOVER CEREMONY, HERE IN GENEVA HOTELS, AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE, NIGERIA.

The outgoing president and executive of the Achievers.

Achiever founders and all past executive members present.

The distinguished members of the achievers.

The chairman and members of the electoral committee.

Our wonderful families and other invited guests,

Good afternoon and a joyful new year to all of you!!!

I want to on behalf of the incoming executive congratulate each and every one of us on this special occasion of our reunion and also most sincerely appreciate your presence here today without which, today’s occasion wouldn’t have been complete and successful. May I also appreciate your contributions over the years and your participation in the just concluded free, credible, fair, and transparent election which elected my team to pilot the affairs of the association for the next three (3) years.

The growth and sustainability of this association is essential for all of us and with our synergic strategic efforts, we shall in line with our watchword of *“TOGETHER WE CAN”,* continue to achieve the objectives and goals which we ab initio set for ourselves. 

We shall run a very transparent, accountable, and all-inclusive government. Our focal point shall be growing the association and her members through the constitutionally approved policies and measures that would improve our brotherhood bond and ensure impactful-visibility for all and sundry.

As you know, a complete review of our financial records shows a high level of uncleared debts, and these debts are upaid dues and levies, which are mandatory constitutional obligations for every member. This is regrettable and not encouraging, too. We must show a sense of commitment to our constitutional obligation by compliance with the payment of our regular levies and annual dues, in addition to active participation. It’s very important to note that no organisation will survive without funding. Hence, our administration shall make extensive deliberation, consultations, and considerations in this regard and shall subsequently address all hitches regarding this subject appropriately.

Myself and my team has resolved and pledged to do our best, but we must remember that each and every one of us are stakeholders of the association, and without our individual supports, the executive or the president can do no magic.

We thank the outgoing executive for their commitment and selfless services to the association. 

In the most special way, may I, on behalf of the association, thank the outgoing president, especially for singlehandedly sponsoring the design and lunching of the Achievers website, which he gave us as a parting gift. May God continue to bless you, *Mr. Oscar Obumneme Igweilo.* 

Thank you very much to the electoral committee led by *Rev. Nicholas Udeh*. They worked selflessly within a minimum time and achieved premium result. May God bless them most abundantly. By the mandate of the constitutional provisions for the establishment of the electoral committee number (C), they did commendable job during the election even until this handover. Notwithstanding, at this point, we have to join the preacher to say that everything that has a beginning will at some point have an end. Hence, by the dissolution provisions (D) and guidance, we plead to hereby dissolve the 2024 electoral committee and request them to submit all relevant document to the incoming secretary general of the association, *Dr. Isah Onyejefu*
